Ivy, Spring Fling Colour Palette
Why Choose Us? Customers around the world have fallen in love with the durability, light-weight and versatile medium. Below are some FAQ's before you purchase!
How heavy is Polymer Clay Jewelry? Fun fact! IT'S NOT.. at all! Polymer clay is extremely light weight and comfortable to wear. One of the main reasons customers around the globe love Polymer Clay jewelry, is because when you wear them, you may forget they're there! They do not weigh down on the lobes, or cause any pain from heavy jewelry weighing on your ears all day. They actually weigh about less than a quarter! But don't worry, though you may forget they're there, others will sure notice your gorgeous earrings!
Is Polymer Clay Durable? You bet! Polymer Clay is VERY durable when baked properly. This takes practice. At SageClayCo, we have perfected our baking method to ensure our pieces come out durable every single time. Each batch will go through a "bend test" to ensure the highest quality prior to assembling. They can be dropped, bent, or snagged and will not break. Like any jewelry, the jump rings that attach the pieces together may bend slightly if snagged too hard, but they can be easily manipulated back into place with pliers.
So, how are they made? We use our top of the line pasta (yes, you read that right!) pasta machine to condition our clay to the perfect thickness and mix colours. This also helps with the durability of the earrings, they must be conditioned properly! Once this is done, we carefully cut out our shapes and transfer them to be cured in the oven. Once they have been fully baked, we then head over to our sanding table to sand the edges and drill holes for assembly. Once they are assembled, we use acetone to buff and smooth out any rough edges and place them onto their earring cards. The process for one pair of earrings typically takes about 1-2 hours from start to finish!
What else is used in SageClayCo Jewelry, other than clay? Our Jewelry features hypoallergenic & nickel free components (backings, jump rings, etc.). We also use resin to secure certain types of backings. The resin is fully cured under a UV light.
Each piece is uniquely handcrafted with love in our home studio, in Winnipeg MB, Canada.
Due to the unique hand-made nature of the jewelry, each pair may differ slightly, and colouring may vary between digital screens.
